TSE Catches Something No One Else Seems to Have: Dallas News Story Suggests Armstrong Was Not An Eyewitness to Cheney Shooting

See here. The key quote from the Dallas News article (link is to third-party site) is this one:

"Sitting in the hunting car, Armstrong didn't know there was a problem until she saw Cheney's security detail running. 'The first thing that crossed my mind was (Cheney) had a heart problem,' she said."

Obviously, then, Armstrong saw nothing, as she became alerted to the situation only after the shot had been fired, and clearly didn't see Whittington fall, as she thought Cheney--not his hunting partner--had had a medical emergency. So all her comments about what happened are worthless, or, worse, were fed to her by Cheney. [Or Rove, who, major-media reports say, spoke to Armstrong 90 minutes after the incident, and before she spoke to law enforcement].

This means the Kenedy County (pop. 407) Sheriff, Rey Salinas, closed his investigation into a shooting having spoken to precisely one eyewitness: Vice President Cheney. That is, the suspect.

That's right, Salinas said "you could say it [the case] is closed" on Sunday.

Before he had spoken to Whittington.

But after he had spoken to Armstrong--who he clearly viewed as "corroborating" Cheney's version of events.

Which, of course, she was incapable of doing, having not seen what happened.

What is amazing about this TSE find is that the mainstream media has not yet caught this. As recently as five hours ago, The Washington Post called Armstrong's account "the only eyewitness account of Saturday's shooting to emerge thus far." [Google cache here].
